Dear Patrick and Sabine,
The trauma of a sudden medical emergency followed by the decision for euthanasia for an elderly dog that you love is a devastating ordeal. To then have to think about “funeral” arrangements becomes overwhelming in the moment. Thank you Sabine and Patrick for being available to discuss my beloved Katie Scarlett’s final journey and allowing me the privilege of participating fully in this journey. At 14 years 9 months Katie Scarlett certainly had a wonderful life and was very much loved by all in her family. Your caring and compassionate manner helped me navigate thru all the options. I didn’t think that I could be present for her cremation but in the end Patrick (and Diego’s) calming manner and obvious love of animals and people provided comfort and closure to those painful few days. What a blessing you both are for providing such a professional service in a difficult time of need. I only hope that when my time comes, my family will have the benefit of such a caring peop le and establishment to deal with. Now comes the really hard part – moving on to life without Katie Scarlett but focusing on the joy and love that she brought to my world and that of my family.

“If I’d’ve known the way that this would end,
If I’d’ve read the last page first,
If I’d’ve had the strength to walk away,
If I’d’ve known how this would hurt,
I would have loved you anyway,

I’d do it all the same,
Not a second I would change,
Not a touch that I would trade,
Had I known my heart would break,
I’d’ve loved you anyway.”
