Stories from real customers of Resting Paws Pet Cemetery & Crematorium Inc.
Thank you Resting Paws (aka Sabine, Patrick and the “comfort team” Roxy and Diego.
My constant companion of 18 years was in distress and needed to be assisted to the other side late one Sunday night. This is traumatic enough; the decision, the act and the second thoughts, and our loss. Now I had to decide what comes next.
I am so thankful that my Mom handed me a card a couple of years ago, with a simple “Put it away until you need it”. When I got back home with Jersey, I pulled out that card and left a message for Sabine and Patrick of Resting Paws, still unsure what I was going to do. Sabine called first thing in the morning, expressed her condolences and compassionately, but professionally outlined what options were available. From my first conversation right through our path (cremation), both Patrick and Sabine were helpful, informative and supportive (hugs included). They explained as much as we wanted to know about any aspect of their operation. We were able to leave Jersey with them, in her own bed with her blanket (which made me feel better), until her cremation. We chose to drive out Resting Paws Cemetery, a beautiful, restful country location, to say our final goodbyes to her worldly body and wait to bring her back home. Again, Patrick answered any questions we had and we could witness as much of the cremation process as we were comfortable with. Jersey was returned to us in a beautiful wooden urn, that Patrick makes himself, with a brass plate with Jersey’s name and dates on it. I also received a beautiful pendant with Jersey’s name on it that contains a tiny bit of her ashes sealed inside, which has become very special to me.
I’m thankful that we found Sabine, Patrick owners of Resting Paws. Jersey received the respect due a loving companion, the family was treated with compassion at a stressful time and we had the comfort of knowing that she never left the area and we could see exactly what happened until we brought her back home.
I am definitely handing Resting Paws business cards to my family, friends and acquaintances as telling them to “put it away until you need it”.
I am so thankful that a people like Sabine and Patrick do what they do, and a place like this exists where I live. My sweet, loyal, beautiful boy passed away at home, in the middle of the night, and I had no idea what to do. I left a message with Resting Paws and Patrick called me back quite early in the morning. He assured me he would be there soon, and take care of everything, which he did with professionalism and compassion. He told me what would happen and that I would be informed when Pluto ashes were available, either to pick up or to scatter. I chose to go out to their property for a small ceremony and scattering. It was very peaceful. The services that Sabine and Patrick provide, from pick up to cremation options, made me feel that I was guided through a difficult and painful process with care and respect. Thank you so much for all that you do.
It all started with that look. That look that no pet owner wants to see, the look of I’m done, I’m not sure how much longer I can go, but for you I’ll do everything I can to do try. I got that look from my old girl Lil’ May on March 23, 2018. I knew the day would come but I never wanted it too. She was my best friend for over 11yrs 9mths. I not only got that look from May, but also from her brother Gunner. He followed her every move, and the more she went down, the more he did.
I wasn’t content with the services being offered locally in my area and needed something better. That’s when I found Resting Paws, Sabine and Patrick.
Sabine, listened to me cry and to stories about my pups. She explained how their services worked, and made me feel at ease. There was no pressure, there was only understanding.
Patrick was just as amazing during the service for my pups. May and Gunner, were treated like his own dog’s. There was so much respect.
Sabine and Patrick at Resting Paws truly helped to make the hardest decision and day of my life a little more bearable. On April 28th, 2018 I said goodbye to my two best friends Lil’May and Gunner. They will forever be in my memories, my heart and in the beautiful locket around my neck.
Sabine and Patrick, thank you from the bottom of my heart, there’s a special place in heaven for people like the two of you.
For anyone out there considering Resting Paws as an option for a final resting place for your pet, I can very sincerely recommend the services provided by Patrick and Sabine Couture, owners of Resting Paws. When the eldest of my two beautiful cats left this life coming up to four years ago, the stress was so great – I didn’t know what to do for the best for her. A friend recommended Resting Paws. I called them, and after speaking to Sabine, I felt that this was the ‘right’ choice. She understood where I was ‘at’ and was a tremendous help and comfort. The incredible pain of losing a pet is something both Sabine and Patrick embrace. They are professional, yet compassionate – walking you through the details of how to proceed, yet remaining very connected to what you are going through. And so, when my second cat, a centurion, left me a few months ago just before reaching the age of 21, I had no doubt as to who to contact to make arrangements for her final resting place. Sabine and Patrick provide a rather unique service for pet owners in the capital region. I highly recommend them and Resting Paws.
We knew that some day soon our special pet Isaac would leave us. He was aging fast before our eyes and we knew his day were few. Our daughter told us of your service and through her we were able to have our lovely pet cremated and brought back home to us. It has been very comforting just knowing that he is still with us. Thank you for the kindness shown and the way our Isaac was finally put to rest.
