Stories from real customers of Resting Paws Pet Cemetery & Crematorium Inc.
Sabine and Patrick are the best! The pain of losing my precious dog is greatly eased by their caring and compassion. I chose group cremation and attended the scattering of the ashes at their beautiful site. Seeing my pet’s name on the memory tower along with the name of another pet that they helped we with in 2017 warms my heart as they will never be forgotten. The supportive “no pressure” service provided by Resting Paws is a big help as I travel through my journey of grief. Knowing that Sabine and Patrick are there for me makes all of the difference.
|From the moment I spoke on the phone with Sabine to the time spent with Patrick in the cemetery for Brody’s burial, the experience was carried out above my expectations. Sabine and Patrick are very kind and compassionate, and both handled my beloved dog Brody with the utmost care. Sabine did not rush me in my decision making and provided me with excellent advice regarding burial arrangements. Patrick made coming to the cemetery to attend Brody’s burial a pleasant experience and comforted me during this difficult time. All in all, I would highly recommend Resting Paws Cemetery and Crematorium for anyone looking for a beautiful place to say goodbye to their beloved friend. |
Premiere chose, les propriétaires peuvent communiquer en français! Le reste de mon témoignage sera en anglais car je crois que les gens qui utilisent les services de cette « maison funéraire » sont majoritairement anglophone. // I used the cremation service for the remains of Nagor (my dog) from Resting Paws last June 2019. Though my memory of that day was rather hazy, what I do remember was the professionalism of both owners/operators. From the moment I left Nagor in their hands, to the moment I took the urn in my hands, every steps were done properly. I did not elect to watch the entire process, you can if you want, but rather I walked in the pet cemetery and surrounding area to reflect on my time spent with Nagor. I thank that friendly couple who assisted me from my first phone call to the day of Nagor cremation. Ils ont été très sympathiques et courtois face à ce que je vivais. Merci!!
We lost our beloved dog Abbey extremely suddenly and were unsure of what we could do to preserve her memory and show her some love and respect after her death. We knew for sure that we couldn’t leave her at the clinic, and we knew that we wanted to have her buried somewhere she would have loved in life. Resting Paws allowed us the opportunity to give her a proper send off and burial, and now we can visit her in a beautiful garden and speak to her when we feel the need. Resting Paws will treat your dog with care and respect and help relieve the burden of knowing what to do in a difficult situation. They certainly helped us to move forward in a time of great sadness and hardship.
When we were preparing to euthanize our beloved doggie, a rottie-lab mix of 16.3 years, we were worried how her body would be transported, whether we would be able to witness the cremation and how we could be sure that the ashes would really be hers.
We called Pat at Resting Paws for a private cremation service, a decision that we are so happy we made. Pat picked up our doggie within 5 minutes after the procedure. This was on Monday and the cremation was originally scheduled for Saturday but he was able to find a slot for us the very next day, which we greatly appreciated. When we arrived, Pat explained everything that was going to happen giving us a guided tour of the facilities. We witnessed how he carefully cleaned the oven from the previous cremation and left it running for 10 minutes before placing our doggie’s remains into it. We were able to say goodbye one last time.
The cremation took about an hour and a half, which we spent walking through the pet cemetery and talking to Pat. Then, after the bones cooled down, Pat grinded them in a special machine as we watched, and once the ashes were ready, he placed them in a plastic bag, wrapped it tight with a golden ribbon, and then tucked the bag into a hand-made wooden urn, made personally by him. The paw print had already been moulded and placed onto the urn the day before.
Witnessing the whole process step by step, carried out by Pat with loving care and personal attention, gave us a sense of deep comfort that we had taken good care of our doggie’s last trip. When we are ready to bury her ashes we can do so at the Resting Paws cemetery and have a tree planted from the grave, so that a new life would spring out of it, giving us a beautiful spot to come and visit. We were profoundly touched when we saw an old treed grave that had fresh carnations placed on it. The whole experience was filled with love and care. We had private time to ourselves, to cry, to talk, to remember our doggie, from the time we had her when she was 5 weeks old to her last minutes.
